The UMKC School of Education’s Continuing and Professional Education department and the Mid-America Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC) will co-host the 2016 Conference for Early Childhood Educators and Administrators on the UMKC Volker campus July 16 and are now soliciting workshop presentation proposals.
This conference is expected to draw more than 150 participants who are interested in incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics) and Physical Education topics into the classroom. The audience will be early childhood professionals: birth through age eight from diverse settings such as preschool, family care, after school, K-3 private and public schools and teacher education.
Presentation proposals should focus on one of the areas of STEAM or Physical Education and should provide best practices on implementation, and be developmentally appropriate topics for the classroom. Workshop sessions should be formatted to provide an active learning experience for the participants, including opportunities for problem-solving, questions and discussions. The application deadline is April 1.
More information and the proposal form are available online.
