Primarily funded by the Cloud L. Cray Foundation and the Missouri Council on Economic Education with affiliation to the National Council for Economic Education. This program is sponsored by the UMKC School of Education.
Description
The UMKC Center for Economic Education is involved in a wide variety of activities to assist schools in promoting economic education in grades K-12. In addition to conducting research in the field of economic education, writing grant proposals for program funding, and designing and teaching economic courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, we also:
- Develop and maintain a Lending Library for economic education resources
- Design and conduct school building or district teacher in-service training workshops in economic education
- Design and develop K-12 economic education curricula
- Facilitate social studies curriculum mapping
- Provide consulting services with regard to appropriate institutional strategies and economic education resources for the K-12 grade levels
- Facilitate the development of school-business partnerships

Services
- Training K-12 teachers and pre-service students in economics, content, and effective teaching methods
