Teaching is a complex activity that is the merging of content, instructional strategies, and relationships. It is the instructor’s responsibility to use these three areas and create a relevant and meaningful learning environment that motivates students to learn.
How do you build rapport with your students?
I learn about them as professionals and people. I also let them get to know me. We have problem solving conversations in class that the students initiate. We take time for conversations that deal with issues on their minds as professionals.
How can teachers reach out to the community?
It is a must that teachers at all levels stay involved in the community. It keeps us real and assists in making learning meaningful. At the university level in education, it is a must we stay involved in schools. How else can we stay current and make learning meaningful? Preparing educators is a very practical piece of work.

In the Plex, the story of Google by Steven Levy.
