The Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (MA in C&I) is ideal for practicing educators as a path to an advanced degree. Students who choose this degree program are interested in deepening their understanding of theory and practice in teaching and curriculum.
The division of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies offers the MA in C&I in the following areas:
- Early Childhood Education
- Multicultural Education
- Subject Matter Specialty (Art, Mathematics, or Social Studies)
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
Admission to the program requires a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4-point scale, a one-page statement of interest/purpose, and two letters of recommendation.
The MA in Curriculum and Instruction includes 36 hours of coursework. The student and advisor set a program of study to form a coherent body of work related to the student’s educational goals.
