2014 Jazz on the Lawn
More than 200 School of Education students, alumni, faculty and staff celebrated its 208 2014 graduates at the 12th Annual Jazz on the Lawn on April 24th.  Despite the fact that festivities were moved indoors to the Student Services Center due to unseasonable spring weather, the event was a rousing success and fitting tribute to the School of Education’s students and the School’s Alumni Achievement Award winner, Dr. Rodney Watson (Ed.S., ’00, Ph.D., ’07).

Dean Wanda J. Blanchett recognized SOE student government officers and thanked the SOE Alumni Association Board for its financial support of Jazz on the Lawn.  She congratulated the School’s graduates, indicating that “as advocates for academic excellence, for social justice, for strategic innovation, for culturally responsive pedagogy and, ultimately, for all our children, your voices will help transform the field of education as we know it, and we are counting on your many talents and contributions, your friendship, and your lasting association as a ROO.”
