CEU Disclaimer

The University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Education Continuing and Professional Education office is approved as a provider of continuing education to personnel in companies, organizations, and schools.

Nearly every jurisdiction that issues professional licenses requires continuing education (CE) courses for renewal.  These CE requirements vary from one jurisdiction to another, from the number of hours required to the types of courses that must be taken. Compliance with CE requirements is the responsibility of the individual professional.  It is crucial that licensed professionals understand the CE requirements in their jurisdictions, and keep up-to-date on any rule changes.

The bottom line is, continuing education is the responsibility of the individual professional- not the CE provider, the licensing board, or the professional association.  It is up to you to understand your jurisdiction’s requirements for continuing education- how your jurisdiction tabulates CE time, which types of courses will not be accepted, etc.  To gain more understanding of these requirements, you can find out by contacting your professional licensing board.

Continuing Education credit is awarded at 0.1 CEU per 1 contact hour (1 CEU= 10 contact hours).
