The Master of Arts degree program with a focus in PK-12 Educational Administration prepares individuals for leadership positions in 21st Century schools. Students begin the program with a cohort and take courses together, working with faculty and school leaders from the metropolitan area to develop leadership competencies through individual and group project work. In addition to required coursework, candidates develop skills through field experiences, action research, individual study, and the practice of inquiry. It is expected that students will tailor their elective coursework, as well as their culminating practicum experience, to the building level at which they currently hold teaching credentials. Upon completion of the program, graduates will complete the ETS School Leadership Licensure Assessment, which is required for certification as a building administrator in both Missouri and Kansas.
