Division of Counseling and Educational Psychology (CEP)

The Division of Counseling and Educational Psychology is committed to educating future mental health professionals who will promote psychological wellness and the advancement of research in counseling, learning, and human development. Our faculty are engaged in life-long learning that is evidenced by their research publications in national and international journals, leadership and service roles in state and national professional organizations, and continued practice in their career fields.

UMKC’s Counseling and Educational Psychology Division includes an in-house training facility for (non-school counseling) students completing their practicum requirements Community Counseling and Assessment Services (CCAS). CCAS offers therapy and testing interventions informed by research to Greater Kansas City Area residents.
All practicum students are supervised by licensed psychologists.
