Technology Learning Lab

The Technology Learning Lab (TLL) offers one-on-one technical assistance to SOE students, faculty, and staff in a variety of applications such as: digital video capture and editing, Microsoft Office products, LiveText accounts, scanning, and CD/DVD creation. The TLL is funded by the School of Education and is open only to School of Education faculty, staff, and students. The TLL is located in the STAR Center (Student Technology and Resource Center) on the first floor of the SOE building in room 129.

Resources available for in-lab use include: 9 Macintosh digital editing stations with iMovie creation and editing, iDVD creation, and Movie file conversion, compressing, and sharing capabilities; 20 Windows 7 Pro workstations with networked printer; and 4 scanners, each with multiple page scanning capability.

Resources for use outside the TLL include digital video recorders and digital voice recorders; faculty may also reserve laptops, headsets, webcams, portable projectors, speakers, presentation remotes, and Smartboards. Equipment is available on a first-come, first served basis and should be reserved at least a week in advance by logging into the reservation system. The system can be accessed using a UMKC user ID and password.
