The division is committed to educating future mental health professionals who will promote psychological wellness and the advancement of research in counseling, learning and human development.

As part of our services, we offer an in-house training therapeutic training facility in the Community Counseling and Assessment Services. CCAS offers therapy and testing interventions informed by research to Greater Kansas City Area residents. All practicum students are supervised by licensed psychologists. In our programs, students receive training for multicultural sensitivity and professional competence in their interactions with peers, faculty, supervisors, and the clients they serve. Our commitment to cultural and individual diversity can be seen in our:

  • Faculty composition
  • Student recruitment
  • Scholarship
  • Course content and offerings
  • Practicum opportunities
  • Community service and consultation
