Counseling and Educational Psychology

The Division of Counseling and Educational Psychology (CEP) is committed to educating future mental health professionals who will promote psychological wellness and the advancement of research in counseling, learning, and human development. UMKC’s Counseling and Educational Psychology Division includes an in-house training facility for (non-school counseling) students completing their practicum requirements Community Counseling and Assessment Services (CCAS). CCAS offers therapy and testing interventions informed by research to Greater Kansas City Area residents. All practicum students are supervised by licensed psychologists. In our programs, students receive training for multicultural sensitivity and professional competence in their interactions with peers, faculty, supervisors, and the clients they serve.
