Every Missouri student K-12 deserves to be challenged academically, engaged and valued in their school community —  yet this kind of learning isn’t happenstance. It’s created by district leaders with the vision, skills, and dispositions to motivate and lead an entire district community.

The K12 Executive Superintendency Program in District Level Leadership is a certification and leadership program for aspiring superintendents seeking transformational leadership development. Superintendent Candidates (SC) study best practices and use concrete skills within their own building and district settings throughout the program. Our SCs learn, create and lead supportive learning environments where all students, faculty, and staff can thrive. As lead learners, SCs are fostered as Instructional and District Leaders who collaborate, engage, and partner with building level leadership, instructional coaches, and faculty.

The degree program is an intensive four (4) semester, minimum 30 credit hour program that begins with a new cohort each Summer Semester. The program adopted a cohort model with the belief that it works best to build SC cooperation, collaboration and diverse learning opportunities. This unique program is a collaborative effort within the University of Missouri System that includes the K12 Superintendent Programs from UMKC, UM-C, and UMSL.
