Emily Howell joined the RPDC in 2020 as a SW-PBS consultant with 15 years’ experience in elementary education. She served as an elementary principal, teacher leader, and 3rd grade teacher in the Kansas City area, and taught 2nd and 3rd grades and elementary music in St. Joseph, MO. She also has experience writing curriculum and assessments at the district level, developing tiered intervention systems for academic and behavioral supports, and helping teachers implement current best practices for teaching and learning through professional development and coaching. She has been active in the Kansas City education community through her involvement with ParentCamp, EdCamp KC, and the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals. She holds a Masters’ and Ed. Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, and is currently writing her dissertation for her Doctorate in Education Administration.
