This new one-year cadre program has been developed with mid-career (3-8 years experience) teachers in mind. The Seminar will give teachers opportunities to learn and practice high-engagement strategies, and add high-impact instructional practices to their teaching repertoire. This program will not require the loss of any classroom time for the teacher!
Cadre members will attend two full-day sessions, June 25-26 at the KC-RPDC. (Note: These sessions may become morning only virtual sessions held June 22, 23, 25, 26 if necessitated for the safety of participants and facilitators.) Six virtual Study Sessions will be held throughout the year, focusing on research-based high-impact instructional practices, and engagement strategies. Each study session will have a follow-up virtual small-group session about two weeks later, giving cadre members the opportunity to debrief their use of the new strategies and receive coaching assistance and peer feedback. Additionally, each session will include modeling and instruction in Total Participation Techniques, and each cadre member will receive a copy of the Total Participation Techniques book by Persida and William Himmele to use as a reference.
