The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is a continuum of learning and supports provided to school leaders from aspiring to retiring. In addition to content available for aspiring school leaders, five levels of support comprise MLDS: Emerging Year 1, Emerging Year 2, Developing Year 1, Developing Year 2 and Transformational Leadership. School leaders will want to invest in their own professional development by attending each level of training.
The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) Emerging Year 2 provides principals:
- Conclusion of two-years of productive and relevant mentoring
- Training and support through research based learning experiences
- Opportunities to develop formal and informal professional networks
MLDS Emerging Year 1 includes two regional meetings which provide practical, relevant learning as well as two coaching labs providing hands on experiences to improve skills in assessing school culture. In addition, a minimum of 20 hours of mentor support are included.
Participation in Emerging Year 1 is a pre-requisite for this course. If you are in year two of school leadership and did not participate in Emerging Year 1, please contact the RPDC Leadership Development Specialist, Teresa Tulipana at email@example.com to discuss your best course placement.
Completion of the Emerging Level series (year 1 and 2) meets administrative certification requirements.
