The Transition Academy will prepare educators to assist students in planning for postsecondary success. It is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an IEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are Indicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student’s IEP, how to plan for postsecondary outcomes and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future.
This is a two day event and participants must participate in both days. Registration will begin at 8:30 with content beginning at 9:00. Please be aware of the face covering requirements in Kansas City as determined either by the Mayor or by Jackson County.
