This workshop covers the fourth edition of the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test, a comprehensive measure of oral language, reading, written expression, and mathematics. The presenters will describe and demonstrate administration and scoring of the subtests, and basic interpretation of the results. Using sample data, lecture, and demonstration, the presenters will describe how WIAT-4 results are used to make diagnostic decisions and identify instructional recommendations.
As a result of this presentation, participants will:
-Describe administration directions for WIAT-4 subtests;
-Explain the interpretive process for WIAT-4 profiles;
-Describe the link between skills analysis and instructional recommendations.
A Pearson employee since 2006, Gloria Maccow, PhD is responsible for providing training on administration, scoring, and interpretation of assessment instruments and consulting with colleagues and customers about clinical assessments. Over the course of her career as an educator/university trainer, psychologist, and clinician, Dr. Maccow has conducted research on assessment methods and instruments, early intervention, and Response to Intervention. She is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and maintains a current psychologist license from the state of North Carolina.
